Flourish Ornament ATC

Hi and welcome back!

Today I want to share an ATC I'd made for a fellow stamper.  I've joined in the fun of playing Secret Santa among a bunch of us over at the Hero Arts Flickr Group organized by Heather and Linda.  Beside sending a small gift, we are to send a card and an ATC.  Here's the ATC:

For the background, I first masked with the Large Lotus Pattern stencil and then filled with Acrylic Paint Dabber in Pearl; then sponged Spun Sugar after the paint is dried.  Then stamped the sentiment in Irsis.  The Flourish Ornament is stamped with Black StazOn on acetate.  Trimmed, and I used pink, dark pink, and purple gen pens to fill it.  The neck is coloured with gold pen.  Then I mounted with 3D adhesive and tied a double bow with white sheer ribbon.  It took some time for everything to dry, but the end result is quite pretty.

All stamps and stencil from Hero Arts.

Thanks for stopping by.

Chalkboard snowflake

Hi, I am putting in an entry to the Hero Arts Holiday Challenge in the A Few of my Favorite Things category (technique: Chalkboard) last minute with this chalkboard snowflake card.  It's a card I made for the Secret Santa exchange over at the HA Flickr group.  The person I sent it to received it, so it's no longer a secret!  :)

All stamps (except sentiment) are from Hero Arts.

Gold embossed snowflake

Hi everyone, hope you're having a great weekend!

I am having lots of fun with using my Hero Arts Large Snowflake die to make snowflake shaped cards!  This one I heat emboss with gold powder using the Dazzling Snowflake.  But the stamp is so delicate and beautiful I have trouble adding more to it.  So I just cut sections of it and turned them upward, and put a gem in the middle.  And I will enter it to the current Hero Arts Holiday challenge in the A Few of My Favoirte Things category (technique: heat embossing) and Die Cut Diva's November/December Challenge - Let's Celebrate.

Stamp, die and gem are all from Hero Arts.

Thanks for stopping by.

Blingy Winter's Butterflies

Hello welcome back.  It's been a while!

At long last, I've get to play with my inks and stamps since my mom's went into the hospital for an open heart surgery mid-October.  Got a new stamp, that's new to my collection, but it's an older edition from Hero Arts.  I am sure most of you remember the Stunning Snowflakes (S5069) from 2008?  I used my Neon Daubers mixed with a little bit of Perfect Pearls solution to stamp my card and "decked" it with gems and stickles.  And I am entering it to the Bright and Merry category of the current Hero Arts Holiday Contest.

Stamps:  (Stunning Snowflakes) Hero Arts; (Christmas Banners) Penny Black
Neon ink baubers:  (Blue, Yellow, Pink) Hero Arts
Dietress ink: (Chipped Sapphire) Ranger
Others: gems, Stickles

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great weekend!

Neon Hello

Hi all, welcome back.

If you are looking for my GD for Playing in Paradise post, please scroll down or click HERE.

Today I sharing two cards made using the Hero Arts Neon Ink Daubers and the Large Lotus Pattern Stencil.  Both cards are made in similar fashion.  Both are first stamped with Old Letter Writing.  Then I lay down the stencil and brush some glossy medium on the open area.  Then I remove the stencil (wash it with water right away).  After the medium dried, I inked the surface like shown, the glossy medium protects the white area thus creating a resist.

This first one:

The second one:

I will enter the second card to the current CAS-ology Cue Card: Neon Challenge.

All stamps from Hero Arts.

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely weekend.

Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Paper: card base: Blush Note Card (Hero Arts), water-colour paper, pattern paper (BasicGrey Picadilly 6x6 pad)

Tag and Stacking Birds

Say what?!

Yes I am playing for ABNH Challenge # 26 - Tag and Fusion Card Challenge #13.  Now the post title makes sense right?  :)

Here's my card:

I used up one of the BasicGrey tags from the SweetPea Alyssa Collection that I have been keeping for a special occasion.  Today is that special occasion, I read a very inspiring quote this morning from one of Jenny Martin's Blog post.  I first stamped branches and the 'stacking' birds (Hero Arts - CL177 Hello Birdie) with Walnut Stain (Ranger Distress) ink on the card base, the tag, and pattern paper.  Fussy cut the birds and adhered to tag.  Slightly coloured branches with colouring pencils.  Add ribbon and tied.  Mount on card stock and voila!!  I think I may fused three themes together.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Card without sentiment

Hi all:

I found that lately I make cards for challenges and most of the time there's a sentiment on the card front to identify the category.  So today I made a card without a sentiment so that I could write in the inside according to the occasion whenever/whatever it may be, and I will enter it to the Megenta June Challenge, which is colour challenge.
Here's my card:

Stamp:  Megenta (C0580-M)
Pattern Paper: Jillibean Soup (Spicy Pumpkin)
Card Stock: Bazzil Paper
Ink:  Ranger Distress (Peeled Paint)
Others: sheer green ribbon

Thanks for visiting!  Have a great day!

20th anniversary

Hi everyone:

Today I'd like to share a short post, I made a card for my hubby to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary.  I draw inspirations from two challenges I will enter my card, the sketch from Playing in Paradise Sketch Challenge #2 and the style from the Moxie Fab World: Mixy-Matchy Style Challenge.

I chose to use a monochromatic pattern mix for my card, here's it is:

The background is white cs embossed and sponged with Vintage Photo (Ranger Distress).
All other images are punched, stamped and fussy cut using pattern paper, and edged with the same ink.
Bird stamp (Inkadinkado).  Sentiment stamp (Bonnidee).  Stamp for curvy panel (source unknown). Pearls (Hero Arts).  Embossing folder (Cuttlebug).

Thanks for visiting, and have a lovely day!

Card to self

Hello, if you're looking for my 'Tag your food package' post, please scroll down or click here.

Horray!!  The Stamp Your Story (by Hero Arts) products arrived at my LSS, I went and got myself the 'Time' cling set.  I made myself a card for two challenges: the Hero Arts Stamp Your Story contest and the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #30.  The sketch is:

My card:

Stamps: Hero Arts (Time AC029).
Inks: Hero Arts mid-tone shadow (Butter Bar);
Ranger Distress (Wild Honey, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Antique Linen)
Papers: water colour paper, card stock (white, light purple),
pattern paper (Creative Imagination, Samantha Walker collection)
Others:  Ranger Perfect Pearl, Liquid Pearl (White Opal)

For the fuzzy look in the vertical panel, I first spritz the watercolour paper with water mixed with Perfect Pearl, and wait until there is no more puddle of water on the surface but the paper is still wet; then I stamp the rest of the images.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend!!

Tag your food package

Hello everyone.  Today's post happens to be like a sequel to my last post: To tent the dessert.  Hehe.. I am sharing Tags for your food package.  And I'll enter them to the MFW Gift Tag Challenge.

Here's a set of Jar shaped tags:

School will be out soon and the summer holidays and festivities begin.  For pool parties, pot lucks, gatherings, when I bring some homemade goodies to the function or to the host, I like to wrap it up in a pretty way.  And that's where the tag come in.  I made some tag to write what inside the package and to indicate if they are peanut free!  Quite important now a days.

And here a few variations:

From left to right:  Pear match-book tag. Cupcake tag, Jar shaped tag, Fussy cut edge single layer tag.
All except the sigle layer tag has stamped dotted line in the inside flap for easy writing.  Here's a few close up.

The jar stamp and 'Love' are from Dear Lizzy + American Crafts (59178)

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a sweet day!
