Stamp with a homemade stamp

Hi,

I am playing for the Stamp with a homemade stamp challenge over at Moxie Fab World.

When I read the details of the challenge, I thought of a project I did when I took a Print Making class many moons ago.  At that time I didn't start rubber stamping yet.  I kept it but never thought of a way to use it again until now.  I thought it'll be fun to use it to stamp and emboss at the same time.  I inked it up with various inks then spritz with Perfect Pearl.  Then I place water color paper over it, then pass it thru the Big Shot.  Althought the result is quite light, I still like it.  In order not to over embellish, I just tie a ribbon accross and attach a small die cut tag stamped with a stamp (Happy Birthday in Chinese) I carved myself.

Here's photo of my card and my homemade stamps.

Stamp 1.

Stamp 2.
Stamp 1 is done by first cover a bristo board with Gesso. Then various items are adhere with glossy medium (mulitple layers).  The items here are: dried flowers and leaves, pieces of lace and ribbons, a string, and  a piece of mesh.   It measures 5 3/4 x 8 inches.  Stamp 2 I carved, but I don't know what the material is called.  It measures 1 x 1 in.
Thanks for looking.  Hope to see you again soon.

I am blessed

Hello my craft friends:

It's mid-week already, hope you're having a good week.  Is there such a thing as CAS scrapbook page layout?  Well, no matter, I've created one for the 20th Anniverary challenge over at Le Style Magenta.

The challenge is My Most Cherished Moment (in the past 20 Years).

I really like the candid photo of my two boys trying on my hats one day (some years ago) after they came back from the daycare!  And I cherish that special moment very very much.  So I made a CAS layout (12 x 12), yes I tried very hard to stay away from flowers and butterlies for this one!  LOL.

The letter "I" is a chipboard I covered with pattern paper, stickers for the word "am" and card stock is from Studio Calico, the "blessed" stamp is from Stampology, the curly chipboard is from Magenta.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the week!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 193 & CASology

Hello my crafty friends, this is my second post of the day.  If you are looking for my Playing in Paradis GD post, please scroll down or click here.

When I saw these cute penguins cupcakes, inspiration photo of the current Cupcake Inspirations Challenge, I know I want to play along.

 Here's my card:

And I am entering it to the current CASology challenge#27, cue word: Blue

Stamp is from Inkadinkado (60-30586).  I first stamped the image with Menento (Tuxedo Black), then mask it off and did the background with Ranger Distress (Broken China).  Then I coloured the image with Copic markers (YR15, YR17, YR18, B12, B14, B16), and colouring pencil (black).  Glossy accent added to the mugs, and tiny blings to trim the hat and scarf.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a lovely day.

Micro Book ATC

Happy 2013 my crafty friends!   Did you pass a good holiday?

I did and now I have the post holiday blues.  But there are plenty challenges out there that'll keep my mind busy (let alone work)!  For the very first project in the new year, I made an ATC for a few challenges.  First one is Hero Arts' January challenge - Try Something New (Technique: ATC).  I use my new ink pad - Hero Arts' mid-tone shadow ink Wet Cement to stamp the Magical Background.  And I made a very tiny book to embellish my ATC.  I would like to enter this to the current ABNH challenge - New Year New You, and the Playing in Paradise Challenge - Use Something New.

Here's my ATC:

Cheers!
