Birthday banner

Hello there, welcome back.  We are having a beautiful Sunday here, the sun is shining and it's a balmy 21C degrees right now.  I got really tired from yard work yesterday so stayed indoor to play with my stamping supplies.  Made a birthday card for two challenges, Die Cut Diva's April challenge and CAS-ual Friday's CFC99 Birthday Bash challenge.

I want to put HB2U for Happy Birthday To You on the banner, but the Hero Arts Fancy Alphabet Uppercase Die does not have numbers.  So I used the whole word 'To' instead.  Background stamp is Hero Arts Happy Definition, ink is Wet Cement (HA Shadow Mid-Tone).  The banners are first pierced then hand-stitched with white embroidery floss.  Pattern paper is from Basicgrey Picadilly 6x6 pad.

Thanks for stopping by.  Bye for now.

A fun fold card

Hello crafty friends, I hope you're enjoying your weekend.  The weather is finally sunny and warm today so I went outside and did some clean up in my yard.  My tulips are coming out but no bud in sight yet.  However I did find this little treasure, I am so happy I have to share.

Afterward I made a fun fold card, found the tutorial on the Magenta block.  The chipboard on the front and the stamp I used on it are both from Magenta.

The paper is from K&Company, butterfly stamp is from Kaiser Craft.  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the weekend!

CFC98: All That Glitters

Happy Sunday everyone:

It's sunny day here, and it makes me happy!  How about I share a happy glittery card I made for the current CAS-ual Fridays Challenge 98 - All That Glitters.  Here it is:

Flower and stem from Simon Says Stamp (Flower Friend set).  The flower is stamped with Hero Arts (Butterbar), stem is stamped with Ranger Distress (Peeled Paint).  Then Crystal Stickles are added to flower and stem.  The flower center is a gold sequin, and a green bead secured using glossy accent.

'HI' is die cut using Hero Arts Fancy Die (Alphabet Uppercase) on Sookwang double side sheet.  After removed the backing, the letters are adhered to card, the I peeled off the relief paper and sprinkled Limetreuse Glamour Glitter (Crafts & Glitz) over it.

Upper right corned punched using corn punch by Fiskars (Lace).

Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Flowering Tree

Happy Friday everyone.   I am so happy you stop by today, I am sharing a card made for three challenges.   Let's check the card:

The stamps are from the Blossoms and Branches set by Magenta.  I masked off a 2 x 2 inches square on the cardstock, stamp the image and colour, and I carefully fussy cut the negative space out.  I stamp another set of flowers, colour and fussy cut; curl the patels upward and adhere with a tiny pop dot.   Stamp border and then mount on card which has a green(pattern) panel adhered.   Below is a close up.

I am linking this up to these challenges:

Moxie Fab World: Tuesday Trigger - Magical Magnolias, this is the Trigger photo, isn't it gorgeous?

Magenta Challenge: April 2013 - Fussy Cutting and/or Stitching, it's a month long challenge, won't you come and play along?

Simon Says Stamp Challenge: April Showers and/or Spring Flowers, another fun challenge.

Have a great weekend!

Fancy Glittery Butterfly

Happy Monday everybody:

Welcome back.  Did I mention I am still playing with my Fancy Butterfly die?  Yup still am.  For today's card, I peeled off the backing of one side of a double sided sheet and adhere to white card stock.  Then die cut the butterfly on it, cut in half and adhere to my card base.  Then I carefully peeled off the release paper from part of the butterfly where I want a specific colour glitter to go on, apply the glitter, and proceed with all three colours.   Sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp Flower Friend clear stamp set.

Perhaps you will find the card familier?  I was inspired by Jennifer McGuire's card.  You might have seen it on Hero Arts' Blog, if not go check it out; it's great inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by!

Fancy Butterfly Birthday

Hi, it's my second post of the day!

If you are looking for my Get Scrappy Bloghop post, please scroll down or click here.

Yes I am really enjoying my fancy butterfly die.  Made another card with it.  I die cut the buttefly with black card stock, then I use the die itself as a template and cut a mat using pattern paper.  I think it looks really pretty!  Don't you?

The sentiment is heat embossed on Washi tape!  The surface of the Washi tape is really smooth, so my inked stamp was sort of sliding a bit when I pressed down, so I refrained from pressing too hard but the inking in the front and back is not as clear as the middle section.  I heat embossing it with clear embossing powder.

Here's the supply list for this card:

Butterfly die (Hero Arts DI078)
Cling stamp: Happy Definiation (Hero Arts CG269)
Clear stamp: Say It All (Hero Arts CL574)
Ink: Wet Cement (Hero Arts mid-tone), Black (ColoxBox)
Card stock: kraft
Pattern paper: Basicgrey - Picadilly
Washi Tape from Simon Says Stamp 2013 March Card kit
Clear embossing powder from Range

I am linking this card up to the Die Cut Diva's April challenge - Washi Birthday and or course the current Hero Arts Blog April contest - Just For Her, and Simon Says - Happy Birthday!

I already have a plan using the same die for my next project.  Do come back to check it out soon.  :)

White Butterfly

Hi everyone, welcome back.

If you are looking for my Get Scrappy Bloghop post, please scroll down or click here.

Yesterday I participated in a 90 minute scramble challenge at the Hero Arts Flickr group, our lovely hostess Stampin Sue gave us the challenge to make an all white card or a white/black/silver/grey combo.  I made a white card using my new fancy butterfly die from Hero Arts, embellished it with a small silver heat embossed tag and clear gem, like this:

I used both dry and heat emboss which fit the current Playing in Paradise challenge - Embossing and the Lawnscaping Challenge #55 theme.  So I am linking up to both.

Supplies:
Butterfly die (Hero Arts - DI078)
Embossing folder (Cuttlebug)
Clear stamp: (Hero Arts - CL547)
Others: ribbon, clear gems

Happy Weekend!!

Get Scrappy Bloghop

Welcome to the Get Scrappy Bloghop!

Today I am participating the Get Scrappy Bloghop organized by Chaitali, her blog is called Cuts, Crops, & Creativity.

You should have arrived from Joyce's blog.  If not, you could go back Chaitali's blog to start from the top; and should you got lost, listed below is the bloghop orders:

  • Cecilia
  • Olga

  • Today's theme is to use scraps to make cards/paper crafts.  And I have a sizable collections as you can see in these photos:
These are bigger pieces of card stock left over after cutting the card base.  I group them by colour and place in 12x12 scrapbook page protectors.
The smaller pieces of card stocks I put them in smaller resealable bags.  And for even smaller pieces, I die cut them.  And then there are extra pieces that's not used or rejected from previous projects.

For the first card, I used some die cut flowers and butterflies.  And added pearls to dress them up a little after I adhere them onto a cream colour panel with grid I prieced.

The second card I picked one piece from each colour (group) card stock and treat the edge differently (including stamping, faux-stitch, edge-punch, distress with ink, die cut, torn edge, and cut with decorative scissors).  And I added a couple of left over pieces (the brown strip and round scallop) onto the card.

The third one I use these pieces:

    to make this card:

I really had fun making these from my scraps, and hope you enjoy them.

Will there be prizes?  Glad you asked, yes there are.  Link up your scrappy project on Chaitali's blog, one random winner for a prize will be draw from all who link up their projects.  You have until mid-night April 6th, 2013.  A second prize will be awarded to one lucky commenter from all the comments left along the bloghop stops.

Now your next stop is at Cecilia's Cards.

Enjoy the rest of the hop!!
