Best Friend Tag

Hello all,

One of my craft friends, Betty Keefe, over at Hero Art Flickr group sent me some book pages to play with.  I made a tag using it along side with a new stamp set I got.  Let's take a look:

I would like to link up to the following challenges:

Simon Says,,,TAG IT

Tag You're It!  Challenge #6

Die Cut Diva's September Challenge - New Things (my new HOTP Small Stamps - Dressform)

A little info about the card.
I covered part of an manila office tag with a torn book page.
Distress the edges with Vintage Photo.
Stamped all three dress form, butterfly and flower, and sentiment (HOTP - Dress form) with same ink,
Dry emboss the book page part with Cuttlebug (Textile) embossing folder.  Then I rub the bone folder over the emboss area to give it a more subtle look.
Stamp dress form, butterfly and flower with Frost White on salmon pink CS and heat emboss with white powder, cut out and adhere to tag.
Add dark brown pearls.
Ribbon is actually seam binding I dye with Vintage Photo and added a bit of Wink of Stella.

Pattern paper, die cut and doodling

Hello my crafty friends:

How are you all doing?  Well I hope!

A short post today, just want to share a card I made for Virginia's View Challenge #7 - Pattern Paper,

and for a small challenge I host for a Canadian stamping group - Canadian Stamp Talk, our challenge is to include some doodling in our paper craft project.

Here's my card:

For my background panel, I stamped Hero Arts Envelope Pattern with Ranger Distress Broken China on pattern paper from the Flea Market Collection (Crate Paper).  Then I use a white gel pen to draw some free hand motif on the edges.  Then I stamped the rose from the Echo Park Co, For The Record stamp and die set on pattern paper from the Picadilly collection (BasicGrey) with Memento Tuxedo Black.  I first fuzzy cut the flowesr and leaves, then paper pieced them together on white CS then die cut as one unit.  Photo frame is from Imaginisce.  Sentiment is from Hero Arts Time set.  The I drew the same motif with black marker in the frame.

Whew!!  That was a long description eh?!  So it is not a short post after all!  :)

Butterfly Branch

Happy Labour Day weekend everyone!

I am so happy I got some time to play this weekend.  I am a big fan of Donna Mikasa's beautiful CAS style, I absolutely adore her DT project for the current CAS(E) this Sketch challenge #90.

And I love the green and white CAS inspiration photo of The Card Concept challenge #17.

And I would like to link up the current SSS Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.

So my CAS card for these challenges looks like this:

The close up shows the Wink of Stella I put on the butterfly.

The die I used is Elsa Butterfly Branch from PoppyStamps.  Sentiment from the SSS Flower Friend Set.

beaded clip hello

Hello my crafty friend:

It's Thursday, very close to the weekend!

Last night I made a small tag card for two challenges:

My finished card measures 3 by 4 1/4 inch.

I was inspired by Betsy Veldman's Star Birthday Card featured in the Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking August issue.  She threaded beads onto bobby pins on her card.

Stamps from Hero Arts Forever and Time set (AC037, AC029).

Thanks for stopping by.

Wine Label Lavender

Good morning everyone:

I am very excited to share a card I made with a wine label today.  You see, I was one of the lucky winners of Jacquline's wine label giveaway earlier this year.  Ever since I received those lovely treasures I wanted to play but haven't found a layout that I like, until yesterday!

Here it is:

Bird stamp from Echo Park (For The Record (stamp and Framelits set)), stamped, coloured with pencils, and die cut.  Rest of stamps from kei'art (Tu Me Manques).  The larger flower was stamped with destress ink with additional colouring using pencils, outlined using marker and fussy cut.

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very lovely day!!  :)

Hello there, welcome back!

Today I share a card I made for two challenges.

First the card, I think it could be considered as a Free Style Collage.

Now the challenges:

I was inspired by the soft, pale colours of the flowers.

I was inspired by the number card in the inspiration photo.

The supplies:

The larger flower and sentiment are from the Hero Art Forever (AC037) set, smaller flowers are from the Technique Tuesday Two Stepping Minis (TSMin) set.
The AMPERSAND was generated using MS Word and enlarged, I printed it on scrap paper then used as a template to cut two pieces from white CS; the front piece I dry embossed with a folder from Cuttlebug (but I don't have the name or the product code, it came with my Cuttlebug).
Ink used:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Ranger Distress Crushed Olive.  Others: Derwent Studio colouring pencils.

Thanks for stopping by.

Flower Shape Thank You

Hi everyone:

I am happy I made one of my favorite shape card today, but I am not one hundred percent happy about it!  Cause it didn't turn out as clean as I wanted, and I don't have a backup piece to redo!  :(  Anyway I will share and link up to Virginia's View Challenge #6 - Shaped Card.

My card shape was downloaded from the Hero Arts Blog, and you could check it out here.

I was inspired by Virginia's paint swatch projects as you can see I use a paint swatch layered over my flower shape card base.  Sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts.  Flower stamps is from Kesi'art.

Come back soon, since I am planning to make more shape cards for Virginia's challenge.  :)

Background challenge

Hi, today I am sharing an ATC.  The background is sent from Janet R., my Hero Arts Flickr groups ATC exchange partner.  We've sent ATC with just the background for each other to finish.  So here is a photo of the background:

I love the grid layout and the soft blue pattern Janet did.  And I don't want to mask or overstamp it too much, so I used some die cut leaves (Memory Box Eva Stem die), the Hero Arts Sparkle Clear Hello set (bird and sentiment), and Hero Arts Small Blossom Gemstones to complete it.  Take a look:

Thanks Janet for the fun challenge!!

My Craft Space re-visited

Hello my crafty friends, welcome back.

Today I share a photo of my craft space, and I am linking up to MFW's Creative Spaces Link Party: Show Me Your Desk.  Teri wants to see our craft space, messy or not.  So here goes:

Yup this is where I crank out cards for my friends and family, and on occasion a card or two for challenges.  But mostly this is where I read the blogs I follow and admire the handy works of many talented artists and procrastinate about my own take.    :)

You'll notice I put "re-visited" in the title.  My DH gave me craft space a micro make over - replaced the credenza (my main storage as seen in photo below) with tables and added a computer desk.

Now I have extra storage space.  The credenza is in the same room with easy access.

Thanks for visiting and have a lovely day.

Virginia's View Challenge #4 - entry four

Just want to share scrapling I want to link up to Virginia's View Challenge #4 - Tags or Scraplings.  Made it with a few pieces from the scrap pile.  The gingham belt sticker was from over 5 year ago!!  The other pieces I used as indicated by an arrow in the photo below are left over of a coffee cup sleeve (this is my recycle item), that info strip from the 12x12 PP.  The flower die is by Hero Arts and I used it on the coffee cup sleeve.  And no the die is not from the scrap and it's much treasured item!!  ;)

Photo of my scrap:

Photo of my scrapling:

I added faux stitches to match the sticker and some gems to the flower and voila!!  Uh oh didn't stamp on it!  Still qualify?! :)

Thanks for stopping by.

Virginia's View Challenge #4 - entry two

Hi, welcome back!

Before I share my project, I have a question for you.  What do you call the half inch strip of paper that you trim off from a sheet of 12x12 pattern paper that have the barcode and/or the collection/brand/company info?

Sometimes there's useful pattern on one side.  And that's what I used for my scrapling today.   As seen in my little scrap tray, the alphabet pieces are from that strip I trimmed off from a sheet of the Check In Collection (KaiserCraft).  The other supplies includes a piece of kraft cs left over from a project that didn't work out, some tags, a rejected embossed butterfly and a tiny piece of ribbon.

So here's my project (finished size: 4 1/4 x 1 1/4, not measuring the tabs):

I'd like to link up to Virginia's View Challenge # 4 - Tags or Scrapling.

Virginia's View Challenge #4 - entry one

Hi I am so excited about my project today I can't wait any longer so I am posting in the middle of a work day!!!  :)

For Virginia's View Challenge #4 - Tag and Scrapling, we are to make it green meaning to incoroperate recycle item(s).

I made a tag card using part of some packaging boxes, a used dryer sheet, and a piece of scrapling (left over after I cut a square card out of a 5 x 7 card) indicated by the arrow photo below.

And here's the result:

Here's how I used the recycle/reuse items.  I dye the dryer sheet using distress ink, let dry then cut into flower shapes.  Crumble to give it some texture and secure with a white brad (which double as flower center).  I fussy cut the leaves from the boxes (I really like that green!).  The ribbon is left over from another project too!  Btw, I added "entry one" to the post title, cause I am planning to create more!  Won't you join in the fun too!?  Go check out Virginia's View Challenge blog.

Hero Arts - Old Letter Writing (S4878) for background
Hero Arts - Long Stem Blossom (F5030) for the stem
Hero Arts - Time (AC029) for the sentiment
Ranger Distress (Antique Linen, Crush Olive, Peeled Paint, Vintage Photo, Barn Door)
Others: pearls, brad, ribbon

Thanks for stopping by, and have a lovely day!!

ABNH #44

Welcome back!

I am playing for A Blog Name Hero challenge #44 - use embossing wet or dry.

I was inspired by Lisa's method of creating wonderful background using daubers!  You can see her beautiful card (and instructions to create it) in this post on the Hero Arts Blog.  I used my Neon daubers to add colours to the background after I white heat embossed the Hero Arts Birthday Blackboard on watercolour paper.  Then I trim it and adhered to hot pink CS and mount on white card base.  And I embellished with a couple straws from the SSS March card kit 2013 edition (yes I've save kept that for over a year!) and some pearls by Doodlebug.  Although it does not show thru the photo, it's quite vibrant in real life.

Thanks for stopping.

Lady's slipper

Hi everyone:

Today I don't have a card to share but a photo of my Lady Slipper, it's flowering again!!  Yay!!  It's been more than two years it has not flower, so I am really happy to see it bloom again!

I hope you enjoy it.

And while I am at it, I may as well share a couple photos of my Tulips and Lilies of the Valley!
Thanks for stopping by!!  Enjoy the rest of the day!
