Lady with Hat

Okay no more procrastination!!  Yup, I finally completed my card for a couple challenges.  First up Playing in Paradise Challenge #11, the theme is  to take any sepia or black and white photo or image and use a POP of color.

And second, the Die Cut Diva's March challenge - Let's Emboss it.

This is what I came up with:

Okay may be I use a few POPs of colours, but I thought this Magenta stamp is perfect for the challenge.  The image is stamped with Tuxedo Black and heat embossed with clear powder.  The  background is created using distress ink spritzed with water on watercolour paper.  The die cut colour butterflies are on their way to join the B&W butterfly on her hat.  ;)

CAS(E) this Sketch #69 and CIC#253

Hi,

A quick post today, I am playing for CAS(E) this Sketch #69.  Here's the sketch:

Here's my take:

Also I want to link up to this week's Cupcake Inspiration Challenge 253.

I masked off the mid section of the white panel, then stamp the floral image on top section with various inks.  As I stamped each image, I stamped again on the bottom without re-inking.  The sentiment is heat embossed with clear powder.  Finally I took green glaze pen and added shine to part of the leaves, and a clear one for the flowers.

Floral image stamp from Technique Tuesday - Two Steppin' Mini
Sentiment from Hero Arts - Say it All

Mint and Navy Blue

Hello  and welcome back!

Today I took part in a 90 minute scramble challenge hosted by Debbie over at the Hero Arts Flickr group.

The challenge theme is to use Mint and Navy Blue.

Okay so all my green inks are warm (has yellow in them), thank goodness I've got a sheet of pattern paper that is "mint" I could use for this challenge.  I pulled out my Hero Arts Large Lotus Pattern stencil, lay it on top of the pp and ink it with Ranger Distress Chipped Sapphire ink (closest to Navy Blue that I have).  Then I heat embossed with white the Hero Arts Untitled Post Mark on navy blue card stock, trimmed, cut two slits and thread glittery mint ribbon thru it like a buckle.  I used the same pp for the flower button.  The rest is pretty self explanatory.   A funny story though, I want the panel the other way around (post mark on the bottom), but the card base was place the wrong way when I mount and I didn't check.  So post mark goes on top!!   LOL

I am linking this card up to the Stencils: Styling with Stencils Challenge over at MFW.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Spring card

Hello there,

Nothing speaks Spring to me more than delicate blossoms in soft pink and green.  And of course water colours!!

Today I share this card (card front/outside):

The floral image I did by painting water colors onto my stamp and then stamped on white card stock.  Butterfly stamped with Crush Olive, sentiment stamped with Raspberry.  The ribbon was dyed in Barn Door and Spun Sugar distress ink diluted with water.

Here's a shot of the inside, I use the same image and method to stamp a top and bottom border in the inside of my card.

And I will enter it to the following challenges:
